Hey everyone, it's Mea'Ola and I'm back. I know it's been a while since mom last posted, but her computer died and then every time she had enough money saved up to buy a new laptop, I had to go to the vet and there went all of mom's saved money.
Now that I'm healthy and mom's back to normal she can get back to blogging, cooking and taking trips.
So, back in June of 2022 mom booked her annual birthday trip, but this time she booked a large house so her daughter, her son in-law and their 3 children could join us. They also brought their dog which created some issues.
But on with the story, as you might remember from previous posts, mom likes to take the backroads when possible. On this trip we went up through Helen, Georgia. It's a Bavarian style town, really cute but the summer traffic was terrible.
It was a hot day, so while mom unloaded the truck, I stayed inside the air conditioning and got comfortable.
Mom's daughter picked a waterfall for everyone to hike at. Since it was going to be so hot, low 90s, mom made me stay home.
Mom had to park at the top and hike down, the falls were very pretty according to mom.
Mom's grandchildren, or munchkins as she calls them got to change into their bathing suits and play in the water to cool down.
It got so hot that mom got over heated, tripped over a tree root and fell. Her knee got banged up pretty well. If I had been there, mom wouldn't have gotten hurt.
Later that night the adults played Scrabble while I watched. Every once in a while, one of the munchkins would let mom's daughter's dog out and a race would be on to grab me and their dog Ruby before a fight started. Ruby has never liked me; I don't know why.
The next day it was decided that everyone would go up to the summit of the tallest mountain in Georgia, Brasstown Bald. Mom would not let me go as the path was paved asphalt and since it was going to be another really hot day mom was concerned that my paws might burn.
This was the lookout at the top of the mountain. Mom said there was a nice breeze

Mom bought herself a new shirt from the mountain.
I was not happy that I had to stay home both days, but at least I got to enjoy the truck ride with mom. She felt bad for me but said she would make it up on our next trip.
