Santa Paws is Coming!

Image
Mom has been bringing lots of storage totes home from mini storage and decorating the house. She said Christmas is coming and so is Santa Paws. She explained the whole thing to me but I liked the part about Santa Paws bringing me new toys on Christmas Day. I never had a Christmas stocking before so mom bought me this one. When she read it to me I was shocked,,I didn't think I had been naughty. Mom laughed, gave me lots of kisses and told me I was the best girl ever, no I hadn't been naughty, but the stocking was just too cute to pass up. Mom's boss' daughter gave her this Advent Calendar for dogs. Mom explained it to me. What I really understand is the treats I get each day are super tasty.                                                                                       ...

Hayesville, North Carolina Part 2

It is now Columbus Day, Monday, October 12th, our last day in North Carolina before heading back home. After breakfast mom got on her hiking boots and packed the backpack with bottled water and snack for both of us. She loaded me into the back seat of the truck and off we went. We saw this near one of the overlooks. It was used by some guy who did a tightrope walk across the gorge. Mom read this to me. It sounds like this was pretty impressive to see. Near the tower we stopped at another overlook, I was not ...

Shortly after we got back from our Sarasota weekend mom started doing it again. She started making lists, packing her coffee and kibble for me. Of course I got stressed out and had a bout of stress colitis. Mom wasn't happy but she knew it could be fixed. She started giving the stuff Dr. Lee prescribed for me and it calmed me down and things got back to normal,,,,sort of.  When we left our home in Jacksonville it was beautiful, we saw a great sunrise as we headed north on I-95. Once we turned onto I-16 in Georgia it was a different story.  Fog, lots and lots of fog. Awhile later when we got off to take the back roads to the cabin the sun came out and mom could actually see where she was going. She pointed out the beautiful farm houses, the cattle ranches, the pecan farms, the chicken farms. I didn't care, I hadn't eaten my breakfast and my tummy was upset. Mom kept stopping to get me some water and try to get me to eat a cookie but being the stubborn girl I am I refused all...
